ebay popup issue


In ublock origin go to settings > filters list > annoyances, turn on “easylist-cookies”

Then go back to ebay and check that the choice hasn’t blocked anything you need.
If it has, go back and uncheck it.
I can’t tell you if it will stop the pop-up. I deleted my eBay account last year after 25-30 years because it isn’t what it use to be.

Maybe, if you see any “annoyances filters” in uBlock settings, check them also.
But turn on filters one at a time, go back to eBay, make sure eBay still works for you.

For what it's worth here's my opinion. (Yes, I know I'm a dinosaur) I never scan any UR code...for any site. That's why I don't get my grocery store coupons. I do not download any app from my credit card company, my insurance company, or any company. Likewise, I do not willy-nilly download anything from the app store or any browser addons. I investigate....a lot.

If I can't do what I want to do by going directly to a website (so I can know exactly what site I am connected to as well as delete my cookies) or with a phone call, it doesn't get done. If those companies don't like it, to hell with them. I know I can't stop all the tracking being done on me, but I can stop a lot of it.

glasskutter i do not ever click on an email to take me event o my bank or medicare aor anything like you i type it in. but i do have those saved as bookmarks to save the typing. and for my banking i do not save the complete password. i leave off some name i have picked and when google PW manage places the username and PW and then i finish entering my added info.

i do not trust the QR codes i have heard tons of scams with folks using them. and i never use my phone to bank with ever never ever. theya re not secure enough for me.

update for 8-20-24 so far today i have not yet seen that ebay popup. but i will give it a day or so more to see if it returns. i did turn off all the add blocker extensions and just kept ublock origin turned on. win ten one time told me to just use ublock but i had a few that did not respond to ublock so i started turning on the other popup blockers and maybe those worked against me. anyway i will let you know if and when i start to see them again. it could even be today. thanks.
