Edge Version 136.0.3240.64
  1. The Edge "Don't Clear On Close" settings have gone/disappeared from the edge://settings/privacy/clearBrowsingData/clearOnClose settings page.
  2. "Don't Clear On Close" is no longer listed below "Cookies and other site data" on this settings page.
  3. The layout/presentation on the edge://settings/privacy/cookies/AllCookies settings page has changed.
This was a neat feature that allowed all browsing data to be checked for deletion on close, except cookies for a small list of specified domains. It worked superbly to minimise tracking and bloat.

However, cookies and site data for those domains that were listed before the settings page disappeared, are still not being deleted on exit, as they are shown on the edge://settings/privacy/cookies/AllCookies page when Edge is restarted, so the settings are still stored although not visible or editable.

Anybody know where the list of specified domains can still be edited? Registry, a file perhaps?
Thanks

Correct - it now looks like this:

There is no message above the Settings page that any policies are applied, as in the example below. This is a standalone Win11 laptop, not domain connected.

I think the Settings menu has changed too - the "Cookies and site permissions" item has gone:

A repair alone didn't solve it, but clearing all cached data, an Edge Reset, Edge Repair and lastly reboot did bring back the "Don't Clear -> Add" button under "Cookies and other site data".

The URL has changed from "edge://settings/clearBrowsingDataOnClose" to "edge://settings/privacy/clearBrowsingData/clearOnClose", and the former redirects to the latter.

The Edge menu in Edge Version 136.0.3240.64 is still shorter than the one shown above by @Fabler2 above, and "Cookies" is now only a sub-item under "Privacy, search, and services".

It does seem like the UI has had some changes.
Does anyone else have the shorter Edge main menu in Edge Version 136.0.3240.64 or later?

BUG: The action of the Clear Cookies and Other Site Data button has been reversed!
In earlier versions, checking the button ON expanded the list of sites not to clear.
Now checking it on hides the list - sites can only be added if the button is turned off. That is counter intuitive.

Definitely something unusual with your Edge installation. My setting on Version 136.0.3240.64 (Maybe it'll get fixed for you on the next update)
