I'm having a tough time figuring out what went wrong with Edge on my system. My primary browser is Firefox but occasionally I have to use Edge. Right now I can't use it all!

I've deleted the link to it and remade the shortcut, so that's not it.
I've tried the uninstall/modify - repair option, no luck there either.
I've run each of the following commands in an elevated prompt
  • dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
    Returned: "No component store corruption detected.The operation completed successfully."
  • dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    Returned: "The restore operation completed successfully.The operation completed successfully."
  • Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers -Name Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge | foreach {Add-AppPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml" -Verbose}
    Returned "Performing the operation "Register package" on target" without errors
There is no indication of errors in the Event Viewer for Edge or the associated edgeupdater.

I'm at a loss as to what else I can to fix it. Any suggestions?

Try this:
Go to %localappdata% and find the folder Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default

make sure Edge is not running, then rename Default folder to default-old
Then restart Edge, it should create a new default folder and start with a new profile.
