Solved Edifier queries/config?

I was/ am looking for an additional extra treble only, which I found by using the VLC presets as temp fix. But can't save em. Other than that am more than satisfied with Edifier output. Without this its more bass..

I would try finding how to save the presets.

Adding another subwoofer would help....or a DAC?

If I find the solution to save presets am good.

You have multiple setups and MX3 for each......

By the way, I dropped VLC years ago, so many quirks and glitches a few years ago...,
I only installed it here, for a sec, cuz you coerced me into doing so!!!

For audio, I've had the least amount of problems with foobar2000.

For video, MPC-BE..., also at least amount of problems.

If your spec are accurate, you seem to have 2 very capable machines!

I like VLC, but only pitfall is unable to save presets that have witnessed over the yrs.
Today was trying a hit and trial to increase treble out of Edifiers, using presets and it's working like a charm. Aim wasn't to try saving presets but to get better treble from Edifiers.

Yes they are correct and serve my personal and professional need well.
M.D being an old friend recommends stuff to my needs.

Ok. Sorry I couldn't help with the recommendation, I guess I misunderstood what you were asking. Anyway, since Edwin was working with you on this he knows more about your setup than I do.

I agree with @Dru2 on pretty much all points, and, I think he's got more audio knowledge than me, (so don't abandon me, my friend!)

Like I said, you appear to have 2 very capable machines, but I wonder which system you wish to do all this upgrading to, the Laptop or the Desktop, or both?
I assume both have a decent audio card...,
... good player software is a must...
... also, your audio files themselves should be high quality or you're just throwing your money away...

I think Edwin is being too kind, his knowledge is just as good, I just happen to be using higher end gear at the moment :)

Also agree with him that you should focus on what you want to use for your main your audio system. I have a laptop, but the only thing I might use there is my portable DAC, and with it my headphones. My desktop is where my true audio system is setup.

And yes a good media player is a must and there are plenty of free and paid app. Edwin uses the excellent free Foobar player, where I use the paid JRIver Media Center player. Both players are very capable of providing great sound, it's just a matter of other features that separate.

Just the Laptop and Edifier's..., nice compact setup..., perfectly enjoyable listening experience.
I have an antique sewing machine cabinet, gutted..., was thinking of converting it into a Laptop station..., will have to see how ambitious I am this summer!

The specs should be 24/36 bit/786KHz....just a guess for a good sound with DAC?

I'd prefer a dragon fly like usb for the laptop and phone...…
