Edit Windows registry for Mcafee rests

Windows 11 home ver 25H2 Build 26200.7840
Dear experts, Recently I have uninstalled both Pdfx and Mcafee antivirus. I have already deleted their remnant files in file explorer,
Should I now use either regedit or ccleaner to delete the remaining occurrences of these two programs in the registry? Have these programs entries in the registry under other names than Pdfx and Mcafee?
Doing a restore point before would be safe enough, not really necessary to save the registry before?

One thing I've run into with McAfee is Web Advisor, didn't always get uninstalled with the main program.

Yeah I know what it stands for, but it’s always referred to as the McAfee Removal Tool. Should call it MR T, because I pity the fool.

prob called MCPR for Macafee CPR as it attempts to bring your pc back to life after uninstalling that cancer

Just this question alone already does indicate you'd better not do any cleaning to the registry.
Why? Because making restore point is no garantee, that you can bring the system back to the original state as it was before you started cleaning actions. Only making an image of the system partition does garantee the possibility of a full restore of a system.

You will always have to backup the parts of the registry that you delete or change. Always! CCleaner does that too, offers the choice to backup registryvalues before doing cleaning actions. Always say yes, so that you can set the thing back!

But I strongly advice not to use any registry cleaning app, because in practice it does not bring very much effect on PC-speed and brings a lot of risks. Only if you really know what you are doing, you could use such apps.

Just my 2 cents...

I generally agree with not using registry cleaners, but the McAfee tool is purpose built for removing their products. They know, or should know, what registry and file system entries they create, so they are in the best position to remove them. That’s the idea anyway. I’m sure the tool is as good as their anti-malware products. 😏
