This tutorial will show you how to turn on or off allowing Copilot to use your past chats to personalize your experience for your Microsoft account on the web, Edge, and Windows 11.
The Microsoft Copilot app is an AI here to give advice, inspiration, and help when you need a hand. You can start a conversation to get clear answers to tough questions, turn ideas into images, or polish your writing until it shines.
Signing into Copilot using your personal Microsoft Account gives you access to your chat history, image creation, longer conversations, voice interactions, and other Copilot features.
Microsoft Copilot keeps your prior conversations with Copilot so you can revisit them or continue them at any time.
Copilot Memory automatically collects key details from your previous chat conversations and remembers it for future conversations.
You can turn off chat history personalization if you don’t want Copilot Memory to use your previous chats to respond to future prompts.
If you turn off the Chat history toggle, inferences that Copilot made from previous chats are deleted after 30 days.
If the Chat history toggle is turned back on within 30 days after the deletion, Copilot adds back the deleted memories from your chat history.
