Browsers and Mail Enable or Disable Extensions from Other Stores in Microsoft Edge on Windows 11

This tutorial will show you how to enable or disable allowing extensions to be added from other (third-party) stores like the Chrome Web Store to Microsoft Edge for your account in Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Extensions, or add-ons, are simple tools that customize your browser experience and offer you more control in Microsoft Edge.

You can get extensions verified by Microsoft for Microsoft Edge from the Microsoft Edge Add-ons Store.

You can also get extensions for Microsoft Edge from other stores like the Chrome Web Store. Microsoft does not verify extensions installed from third-party stores.

You can turn on or off allowing extensions from other stores in Microsoft Edge on demand.

Turning off "Allow extensions from other stores" will also turn off all extensions installed from all other stores than the Microsoft Edge Add-ons Store.

You can still manually turn on individual extensions already added from other stores without having to turn on "Allow extensions from other stores".
