This tutorial will show you how to enable or disable showing full mobile device (phone) notifications when hovering over them in the Start menu for your account in Windows 11.
You can directly access content on your mobile device from the Start menu on your PC. Using this feature, you can view your device’s battery status and connectivity, access your voice messages, calls, and photos, and pick up where you left off with the latest activities on your device, and share files across devices directly from the Start menu.
Starting with Windows 11 build 26300.9032 (Experimental 26H2) for Insiders, you can hover over a recent message or notification from your linked mobile device in the Recent section in the Start menu to preview its content. There's no need to pick up your phone or open the item to see what's new. This experience is gradually rolling out to Insiders on the Experimental channel with a minimum Phone Link app build of 1.26021.3.0.
EXAMPLE: Mobile device notification on Start menu
Here's How:
1 Open the Phone Link app.
2 Click/tap on the Settings (gear) icon. (see screenshot below)
3 Click/tap on Start menu personalization in the middle Settings pane.
4 Under Notifications in the right Start menu personalization pane, turn on (default) or off Notification previews for what you want.
That's it,
Shawn Brink
