This tutorial will show you how to enable or disable the Web Remix feature in Microsoft Edge for all users in Windows 11.
Microsoft Edge is the AI-powered browser. A smarter way to browse. As the only browser built and optimized for Windows, it’s AI-powered tools are designed to help you make the most of your time online. Whether you’re searching, shopping or gaming, AI-powered tools and a security-first approach help you stay productive, save money, and get things done your way.
Web Remix in Microsoft Edge lets you customize how a webpage appears using a simple prompt.
You can use Web Remix to:
- Simplify a long article for easier reading
- Add a summary to a detailed page
- Turn a recipe into a shopping list
- Convert prices to your local currency
- Update the appearance of a webpage
You are in control of Web Remix. Web Remix is applied only when you choose to create it and includes built-in safeguards. To help protect your privacy:
- No access to sensitive browser data: A Remix doesn't access saved passwords, autofill data, or payment information.
- No model training: Content processed to generate a Remix isn’t used to train AI models.
- Local, per-user changes: A Remix applies only to your browser session on your device.
- Custom remixes: use AI to generate webpage customizations based on your request. This feature is experimental, and remixed pages can be inaccurate or unstable.
- A Remix changes only your view of the page during your browser session.
- It doesn’t modify the original website or content on the publisher’s servers.
- Other people don’t see your Remix.
A Remix doesn't republish, redistribute, or host website content. It reorganizes and restyles the page that is already loaded on your device for your personal use.
Remix is designed for consumer use and requires you to sign in to Edge with a Microsoft account.
You can use the RemixAvailability policy in Microsoft Edge 156+ to control whether users can pin Remix to the toolbar and use Remix in Microsoft Edge.
- If you set this policy to Disabled, Remix is unavailable. The Remix setting is disabled, Remix isn't shown on the toolbar, and users can't launch Remix from another entry point.
- If you set this policy to Force enabled, Remix is available. The Remix setting is enabled and pinned to the toolbar. Users can't disable or remove it from the toolbar.
- If you don't configure (default) this policy, users can choose whether Remix is pinned to the toolbar.
