That's the registry key that controls the task scheduler. Turning it off stops windows update, CBS servicing, driver updates, etc... setting the start value to 4 means it's off...

So you have WU completely disabled then? I accomplish a similar thing using Group Policy by disabling automatic updates.

have you tried SFC on the system
open a CMD prompt as admin and write
sfc /scannow

let it run and see if it fixes any errors.

DISM + SFC were the first things I ran but never found any problems.

I don't know if this will solve your issue, but everyone should know about the Tutorial below, and the DDU instructions.

Sometimes the drivers that MS occasionally includes with Windows Updates...
can conflict with drivers that are already installed. Which is what the tutorial below is for.

DDU, on the other hand, will remove all the leftovers from MS or Nvidia drivers, so when you install an Nvidia driver, it has a clean slate to work with.




1. First, do Option #2, step #3 and onward, here...
2. This will block MS from including drivers in Windows Updates.
3. They'll still be listed as Optional Updates, if you ever need them.


1. Get this program, here: Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) | Wagnardsoft ...get the latest version, and save it to your desktop.
2. Get the Nvidia WHQL vid card driver here... https://www.guru3d.com/files/category/videocards-nvidia-geforce-windows-7-8-10/ ...save this to your desktop.
3. Unhook the internet completely.
4. Reboot into Safe Mode and run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) choose the "Highly Recommend Option", and just do what it tells you.
5. After it's done, reboot to normal mode, then just double click the Nvidia driver to install.
[See pics below]. If it want's to reboot, let it.
Rehook the internet.

I already block them in GPEDIT, and if it was a driver issue it wouldn't be affecting both the iGPU and the dedicated GPU.

So I have reinstalled Build 26200.6584 and I have yet to see this freeze issue on this build.

I'm at a loss here. What the heck did Microsoft do to March's update and later that would cause this?!

I have stumbled upon this post Chromium
What the person put in their video is exactly what I was going through, and they claimed it was their Monitor.
The person responded to them with a similar issue when resizing, and apparently Windows changed something called Multi-Pane Overlay in 25H2?
