Windows 11
Greetings,
can you please give me an hand?
I'm trying to install Windows 11 on a Desktop as scratch , but at the first restart it gives me the error:

"Computer error or unexpected restart. Impossible continue installing Windows. To install
Windows, choose "OK" to restart your computer, then restart installation"

and immediately after about 5 seconds I get the blue screen that says:

"There was a problem and the device needs to restart.
Gathering information about the error in progress. At the end of the computer
will restart automatically."

with the count, which reached 100%, restart the PC entering in a loop.
The only difference is that the blue screen error is different on each reboot.
Please can anyone tell me how to solve to be able to install Windows 11 until the end?
Thank you
Enzo

This could be the result of faulty hard drive or RAM test them.

CrystalDiskInfo is a free easy-to-use open-source Windows application that will show you S.M.A.R.T. attributes for mechanical hard drives (HDD), solid-state drives (SSD), and Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) drives. The application is available as a portable app or with an installer.

Use MemTest86 - Official Site of the x86 Memory Testing Tool to test RAM modules.

Where did you get the Windows 11 installation media?

Are you trying to install from CD or USB?
Why so many hard drives on the machine?
Maybe disconnect all but the one you need for installation(?)

Is it a NEW computer?

Hi there

If you can do it usually going via dism.exe /Apply-Image will work on any sort of hardware. It's slightly more complex but eminantely do-able without too much reliance on the command line.

plenty of examples on this board of how to do this - and even install W11 on "quite primitive hardware" too.

Create the relevant W11 ISO you want to use via UUPDUMP or equivalent and if you don't know the commands simply run dism.exe /Apply-Image /?

after installing then run bcdboot.exe

plenty of examples on this forum.

Note also if you want a "Local user -- not an Ms account" at boot up when you are asked to logon with an Ms account this still works.

Userid / email :Nobody@nobody.com

Password: Male objects that rhymes with "Bow Locks" (or whatever you want). I see the AI on the forum also translates this too -- A.I though is easy to defeat with a bit of ingenuity, I'm sure I'm not talking about edible nuts which is what the A.I switches the translation to. !!!!

I saw recently a competion on the Times On Line (London Times) at who could defeat the most of the robot's A.I systems in moderating even quite OK posts -- calling someone an Idiot got "Moderstor A.I intervention" !!!!

Then you get message "Oops something went wrong "-- hit next and you can enter details etc for a local account).

Not sure how long this loophole will remain but currently still working.

cheers
jimbo

Make sure that your desktop's BIOS is up to date. You can check for BIOS updates on the manufacturer's website.
And if you used a USB or DVD to install Windows 11, try creating a new installation media using the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft's website. The installation files may be corrupted or damaged
