Solved Errors 0x80070652 & 0x80070643 trying to install .NET 6.0.18 & .NET 7.0.7

Windows 11 Pro 26H2 (Build 26300.9539)
After recedving these errors and resetting Windows Update components (which did't resolve the issue), I decided to do a 'Repair / In-Place Install' following @Brink tutorial

I've tried various source .ISOs, and always end at the following screen

- I'm unable to select 'Keep personal files and apps'!!

Can anyone suggest a remedy?

Usually when "Keep personal files and apps" is grayed out, the ISO is not the same version of Windows 11 as what you currently have installed.

Just to verify:

Repair install requirements:
  • You will only be able to perform a repair install of Windows 11 from within Windows 11. You will not be able to perform a repair install at boot or in Safe Mode.
  • The Windows 11 installation media (ISO or USB) must be the same edition, same version, and same or higher build as the currently installed Windows 11.
  • The Windows 11 installation media (ISO or USB) must be for the same language as your currently installed Windows 11.

Found the problem -

When Dell built the machine on, or around 30 May,, they installed 'English(United States)', not 'English(United Kingdom)'!!!

AGGGHHHHHHH!!!!

They also managed to install Linux on the system a well!!

I'm in the process of re-doing the .1848 ISO with 'English(United States)' as the language.

While that's happening, a phone call to Dell Technical Support is about to happen.

Thank you for putting me on the right track.

I can confirm that the newly generated .ISO - English(United States) variant - has worked OK.

There are many red faces in Dell Engineering & Technical Support at the moment.

I finally managed to do a Repair / In-Place Install which first reported another error - 0x80248007 - and found a fix online - the Windows Update Service was not running; so I started it and all my Windows updates started downloading & installing as per normal.

The re-install also cured so other issues that I had been experiencing. :shawn:
