I installed Explorer Patcher on a Windows 11 Dell XPS 17 and love it, but have an issue with the task view button. It is non-functional if I use Explorer Patcher with the Windows 10 style task bar, but it IS functional if I use Explorer patcher with the Windows 11 style task bar. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Explorer Patcher but with the result. It is a pain to have to change to Windows 11 taskbar style to use the virtual desktop feature of the task view button. Anyone else encounter this and find a solution, or have a possible solution?

That does the same thing when I try to use the task view button with the Windows 10 taskbar in Explorer Patcher- the blue spinning wheel appears and Explorer Patcher just resets, but there is no display of the virtual desktop. That is what I was referring to when I said the task view button is non-functional in my Explorer Patcher unless I switch to the Windows 11 taskbar.

So far in the aftermath of the latest Windows OS update, I found at least 5 things not working if one has Explorer Patcher's taskbar is in Windows 10 mode:
  1. switching with Win key + Tab = completely stopped working
  2. at times even switching with Alt + Tab not working (tho it resumed to work if you start / restart the machine)
  3. "task view" button on the taskbar = completely not working.
  4. multiple finger touchpad gestures = not working if you have them set up to do Taskview-like functions like switching between apps and the desktop
  5. Virtual touchpad not showing up in tray icons if you have that turned on in Settings

The latest Windows update has made Explorer Patcher a massive liability if you have set it up to display Windows 10 features on your desktop. Earlier it entirely crashed my computer when it started immediately after I installed Windows' latest Cumulative update (File Explorer and with it Windows desktop entirely failed to start / crashed / hang witout even completing startup). Then thankfully that compatibility bug was sorted out with an ExplorerPatcher update that came within days of the Cumulative update, but there remain other, perhaps less catastrophic bugs like the ones I listed above and possibly more.

Everything's a risk!
With every new Build, I cross my fingers clicking on StartAllBack/Enable!

6, When you are changing brightness, the indicator no longer displays the progress bar on your screen (again with Explorer Patcher taskbar on Win 10 mode, if it is on Win 11 mode then it will pop up as usual).

Coincidentally this bug is actually fine by be. I'm glad it disappeared, as I hate the sneaky (horizontal) bar that Windows 11 has, which is way too animated.

I got the new version of Explorer Patcher upgrade tonight, and Valentin-Gabriel Radu did it! I can now use the Task View button normally with the Windows 10 style taskbar and see all the different desktops created, and all the open screens for the desktop you're in!

Yes, whenever you experience issues just update to the latest version. I once installed some updates in my father's computer and Explorer would crash all the time, I couldn't use the computer. I used Task Manager to kill all Explorer instances and load Microsoft Edge to download the latest version of Explorer Patcher. Once installed the computer was fully functional again. So I recommend to always check and install latest Explorer Patcher before installing Windows Updates, or at least before restarting.
