Solved File context menu ‘Send to>Mail Recipient’ no longer works

I still cannot drop a shortcut onto the taskbar like I could in Windows 10, and there is no 'Pin to Taskbar' menu option.
In my Windows 11 with ExplorerPatcher, I can

Pin exe to Taskbar - Win11+EP
Pin exe to Taskbar - Win11+EP.png

Pin exe shortcut to Taskbar - Win11+EP
Pin exe shortcut to Taskbar - Win11+EP.png

Drag exe shortcut to Taskbar - Win11+EP
Drag exe shortcut to Taskbar - Win11+EP.png

When setting up ExplorerPatcher, I choose the Windows 10 style Taskbar.
- I restarted after making that setting.
- If you have installed EP, these choices are shown when you right-click on the Taskbar & choose Properties.

I also tested this with an internet shortcut because you mentioned Chrome and it worked the same way as my exe shortcut above.

The Context menu, Pin to Taskbar option does not appear when the file is on a removable disk but it does appear if you first copy the file to, say, your Desktop on an internal disk.

If you look in the About section, you'll see an option to Export current settings. That will be handy if you intend to play around with EP.

All the best,
Denis

Thanks again Denis, much appreciated. I only now realize my stupidity  The "shortcut" I tried it with was not a real shortcut but an "Internet shortcut'. That is why it said Pin to Chrome. You can't tell the difference from the look of the icon. With a real shortcut, I have the 'Pin to Taskbar" option and can also drag it. Yay, that is some improvement 😊

@Edwin
How about this example for you?

thunderbird -compose "to='[email protected],[email protected]',cc='[email protected]',subject='dinner',body='How about dinner tonight?',attachment='C:\temp\info.doc,C:\temp\food.doc'"

Now the single and double quotes are going to be fun to set up in the reg or in a shortcut!
Good luck.
Hello, I modified the line in this way and it works fine, but when I want to attach an image, it always tells me that the file does not exist. The email and subject line are generated correctly.
-compose "to='MAIL',subject='Download',attachment="%*"

The file %* D:\Users\etc does not exist, so it could not be attached to the message.

Is there any way to fix this?

Personally, I'd go to the SendTo folder on the HP [the good computer] and copy the Mail Recipient entry from there.
C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo

I'm not on my Win11 computer at the moment or I'd send you mine.

Denis
I tried that some time ago and got nowhere as my email client does not match with the "Type of File" shown there. But as the Sendto link of Mail recipient opens a new massage as it should, it appears that, at least for my system, Win 11 came to its senses and now happily iuses my default application. Wonders never cease!
Incidentally, over the last few days a fault message (on most days) about Runtime error has also corrected itself. Fingers crossed it doesn't come back.

Another result of trying to change File Explorer is that in my email client it now needs me to click twice within a message before I can scroll. But in the message folders list just having the cursor there is all that is necessary. I came to the conclusion that if I can live with suddenges to Win 11, I will just cr oss my fingers and hope that yet another update will fix things :giggle:
