As you can see in the attached screenshot, this is my drive listing in File Explorer. The NAS used to display the same as the other drives showing the capacity bar, but recently it has changed to the image seen. If I click on properties, it just shows network information, not the capacities.
Can anyone tell me what has happened and how to revert to the standard drive display? This may have happened when I updated to 25H2 but I could be wrong.Screenshot 2025-12-17 153742.webp

Does not show up in that View.

I have 2 NAS, Printer, Scanner, another Laptop on the network but they do not show in that particular View.

Click on Network in LH column to get a better view and classification.

That works. As I say, it used to show the capacity bar for the NAS but I can live without it. I have recently updated the NAS Disk Station software from Synology so it may be connected. Thanks Helmut.

That is not connected, just before writing that I updated my newest Synology NAS, nothing changed.
it used to show the capacity bar for the NAS
I have had Synology NAS boxes since 2013 through Windows 8.1 - 10 - 11 and they have never shown "capacity bar" in File Explorer.

...As I say, it used to show the capacity bar for the NAS but I can live without it...
You need to map a drive letter to the share on your NAS.

File Explorer will only show the capacity bar for a network drive if you have mapped a drive letter for it. Here my File Explorer shows the same network drive twice, first added as a URI network location (\\server\share) and again as a mapped Z: drive.

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

I believe my NAS was mapped but somehow it has changed from that to what it is now. No idea how but it definitely looked like that shown by Bree. It was always my warning to cleanup backup versions on the drive when space was running low. Have just remapped it again and its back how it was. Strange.

That may well have had the side-effect of disconnecting your previous drive mapping. Glad you've got it back now. :-)

I'm sure you're right. I was not expecting anything to change which is why it threw me. I was shifting a few gig of folders around my various drives so I also started doubting myself, thinking I had done something wrong somewhere. All back to normal again so thank you everyone for steering me back again.👍👍
