Solved File Explorer Scroll Bars Windows 10 style

Recently updated my laptop with the KB5010414 (22.000.527) and the File Explorer scroll bars appear styled like Windows 10. Any ideas

Switch to the MS Store app Files. You'll be happier and it has TABs available

Thanks for the advice, but my post is not aimed to third party apps.

Well, take a look at: Winaero Tweaker
You may find an option in this app that might help you with your scrollbar issue. Good luck.

Don't know exactly what you want to change but with Winaero Tweaker your can change the width of the scroll bar.

Sorry but I don't want to use a third party application. Post this thread because my scrolls bar appear squared, it suppose to appear rounded by default.

Exactly WHERE is your scroll bar NOT rounded? If you used the tweak to bring back classic explorer with ribbon, the scroll bar is not rounded in explorer. Neither is it rounded in any app like MS Office nor in Windows apps like event viewer, command prompt, etc. In mine, the only places I've noticed a rounded scroll bar are in Edge, Settings, all apps

I think the problem is not in the scroll bar but in the window itself which is not rounded. I think that is what the op is referring to. If so I don't know if there is any alternative but to repair the windows installation.

Well, as a last attempt, on my part, you can go to the MS store and download "Files"(Free). You can use it a substitute for File Explorer. See attached photo. BTW, it has rounded scrollbars.

This looks interesting but I've seen reviews that it's slow compared to file explorer and possibly more crash prone. What's been your experience using it?

We're supposed to be talkin about why the OP has these scroll bars...

Then let me add mine to the mix. Mine are NOT rounded either, except in settings, Edge, and all apps. There may be more I haven't come across yet. The only 2 tweaks I've done are to use classic explorer bar and bring back old context menu.

Yes, that is I'm talking about. It's supposed that the scroll bars in File Explorer are rounded. Or I'm wrong. I'm not talking about using a third party application.

In my file explorer scroll bars are not rounded and I have not made any changes, it is the original.




Windows 11 21H2 22000.527.

I just checked mine, they are rounded in Explorer, I haven't done any tweaks in regards to scrollbars or Explorer (except to bring back the context menu).

I'm on the latest Pro Beta.

I already said mine were not rounded. Just check my husband's PC and his are not rounded either.
