File History isn't working anymore!

Solved 😫
The problem was entirely in the Libraries folders!
In Documents and Pictures, there was a link to OneDrive and to D:\Downloads.
Once I removed the link, it immediately recognized the drives, and the D: entry no longer appears in the config...
Damn...

However, you will find it doesn't copy any new files so the fix didn't work.

You do need to put some things in the exclusions list for File History. That is rather user dependent.

The Downloads folder is one of my exclusions list for File History. I don't use OneDrive sync or Libraries.

No, I created a new file and a new run of File History did not copy it as reported by others, nor did the run date change despite FH taking several minutes to run

Due to disk space I have tried to start a whole new instance of File History on a larger drive. I have the Preview update that is supposed to be a fix to previous broken update. File History just creates the structure but will not back up any files, and apparently does not create any log file error entries. I made sure FH was stopped, cleared appdata, etc. first. Just plain broken.
And I was very glad to have had my old file history when my hard drive failed recently... so much for that moving forward.

have you considered an alterative to File History such as FreeFileSync

i use FreeFileSync as a File History replacement when File History failed on me
its very easy to set up and just as easy to use.
