Solved Files get deleted without deleting them

windows 11 pro
Every couple of months about a dozen files and programs (different) disappear from my computer.
I do not delete them.
If I go into the recycle bin, none of the files or programs are there.
If I try to restore the deleted files, they do not show up.

We can't help you much without more info. What kind of files? What folder were they deleted from? Are the files the same files each time or different files?
Just an educated guess with no more info provided, I suspect you use a MS account and have backup folder syncing turned on. When using a MS account the default location for Documents, Desktop, Pictures, and Videos is Onedrive, not your system drive. Do you also have another device synced to Onedrive as well or is this the only device you use
.

I do not use the Onedrive.
The files and programs are not on the "C" drive, I put everything is on a separate drive.

You do unless you have taken the steps necessary to unlink the account and PC from Onedrive.
You also do if you use Ofc365 because Onedrive is an integral part of 365.

I know of 2010, 13, 16, 21... was there a 2012 version?

but anyways... is the other drive an external or connected to the mobo? is it seagate?

may want to use crystaldiskinfo and check the drive life.. could just be dying (sectors going bad)

As stated, there is no Microsoft Office 2012, maybe you mean 2013?
You say you don't use OneDrive, but you should check in your OneDrive folder anyways. (ie) C:\Users\UserName\OneDrive.

Other than that, as suggested, download Crystal Disk Info and/or DiskGenius in my signature and view the SMART info for this and all of your drives. If it is any thing less then Good, it needs to be replaced.

My Excel version is 2021 not 2012 (my mistake)
My OneDrive has nothing in it..
I tried Crystal Disk Info and the disk came back as GOOD
I also ran CHKDSK /f/r and the drive came back with no errors
