My friend has a Gmail account, which is working well with all its security settings. His only problem is, he has forgoten the password. I know this is against Forum rules, all I need to know if its possible. Everything I have tried gives every option except the Forgot Password.

I just went to accounts.google.com > sign in > typed my email > next > right below the input box for password is the link “Forgot Password?”

Is that not showing when they go to sign in?

Thanks Shawn, I have been trying to get one of my Gmails to give the option for Forgot Password without any luck.

    When I find it.
You definitely won't get Gmail to tell you "your password is abc123", the forgot password is precisely for these cases, what happens when you use it?

Otherwise, your password manager or similar thing would be the only places where the password could be written out, and the only (reasonable) things that can remember what your password was.

My friend had Lastpass on his PC set up by me. I think it was set for recovery using one of his two phone numbers, but which one.
I will try next time I visit but is usually only once a week on a Sunday. More later.
