Fingerprint sensor -- can't get it working on Canary release

Hi folks
Can't get this device working on the latest Birdie release. (W11 PRO GB/UK edition)

Bus 001 Device 007: ID 138a:0050 Validity Sensors, Inc. Swipe Fingerprint Sensor

Working on the preview and "RTM" (22000xxx) versions-- copying driver doesn't help.

Working also on Linux kernel 6.8.xx

Any ideas anyone

Laptop is an HP envy with fingerprint sensor built in.
