Flash Drive not showing

I'm out of ideas unless a third party can recover the data.

When you contact Seagate / Sea Tools they have data recovery for failed drives.

See if they have options for flash drives.

Since it's a trial version, you don't have anything to lose by trying. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Unfortunately, if Windows cannot even see that a device is connected, no Windows software is going to be able to recover data. At a minimum, there needs to at least be a device seen that can be accessed.

I wonder is a Linux distro, or even a live CD might see it? If it's dead, then no device will see it

In case of over-current protection the flash drive might don't work for one day. Leave it for 24 hours and try tomorrow.

I agree, but since I don't have the software, I don't have a clue whether it contains code for recognizing the flash drive.

And I know it's a long shot, but with valuable info on the flash drive, I'd be trying everything I could think of.

Case in point: My daughter had a WD external drive that died. She had a lot of family photos on it. I worked and worked with it, and got nowhere fast. She took it back and worked with it for awhile, then gave it back to me. I finally asked her if I could chunk it in the trash. She said no, give it back.

At some point, she got it to work and got her stuff off it. Both of us had worked with trying to restore this drive for months, and finally, one day . . . it can happen.
