FN key on my 800 keyboard

You have taken this keyboard (I made it having the same size for better comparison):

The keyboard you are showing has extra keys for sound functions above the normal function keys.
The keyboard @janey6 is showing does not have those keys.
The function keys fysically are smaller , there is one extra key right to the F12 key.

I found out what the difference is:
You are showing the MS Keyboard 600 I have the wired version of that keyboard)
OP is showing the wireless keyboard set MS 800.

I can't exactly see if there is some key to switch the function keys, but I don't think so.

Most be a diff revision of the same 800 series then because I just searched for model 1455 as per OP’s image. The Microsoft thread is for that model. Either way, independent F keys. Mouse and control center will aid OP in configuring defaults.

No, you did not use the OP's picture in #14 to turn it right up, you used the picture in #13!
But that does not matter anymore, because that keyboard does not have a key to extend the function keys.
That is a function used in (for instance) the Microsoft Media keyboard 3000 (that my wife has).

Terrible function by the way, function keys never work as expected.

Something strange about that image..., it looks as if the @ key and Tilde key is above the right Shift key! Hard to tell though.

I enlarged the image and sharpened it (this is the best I could get it).

It definitely has another layout for some keys. This MS 800 keyboard in UK version looks very similar:

So it just is a matter of language version.
