Same here, on pc's for home or pro standalone. Not in a network with provisioning you can disable those task, as it is used for device / application deployment or to finalize remote device push situation for software.
So i have this disabled for standalone machines for years. In company networks we leave it on for the above tasks.

One reason why i made those scripts to remove all those empty folders is. That virus/malware scan / backups. Or windows explorer folder counts, are faster done without the need to process those empty folders.
For example, removing 20000 empty folders, reduced a Malwarebytes scan from 1hour back to 45min scanning. It did not have to recusivly process all those folders.
