Folders not automatically refreshing after KB5032190 update

And to make things a little more annoying, in the new W11 Explorer a right click no longer shows Refrssh right there. You have to choose Show More Options and then Refresh appears. So not only the funky bug, and extra 3 clicks to resolve.

    …still on a horse.
For me, this has been occuring on Windows 10 for years (some people say, even since Win XP) and there has never been a clear repair method to solve it. I initially thought that maybe because my main disk was SSD and the other disk was HDD and it's slower to sync changes between drives, but I even bought another SSD to replace HDD without any improvement, and this issue still persists till this day.

Here is a gif video of how it is happening for me:
Windows 10 File Explorer Bug.gif

There are people on Reddit with this same issue:

Why does the file explorer need to be manually refreshed every time you change something?

Folder and file icons not updating, have to F5 to refresh.

And many more...

I realize this thread is a little old, but I had the same issue until I was able to fix it today. ...

Today, while just playing around in file explorer, I decided to tick the Show Libraries option. I immediately noticed that the icons were different for Music and Pictures when comparing the Libraries and Pinned versions of the links. So I unpinned EVERYTHING, and re-pinned everything by right clicking on Documents, Pictures, Music, and Videos from the "Libraries". When I re-pinned Pictures and clicked to open my pics from the pinned shortcut, file explorer gave me a screen where I had to choose the folder where my pics were located, much like how one would choose which pics folders to view in a viewer app. I chose my pictures folder from my user folders, and BAM. Problem finally solved. Hope this helps u.
I did something similar to fix it for me. I found the problem does indeed lie with the Windows favourites list. Refresh is broken if you link any network folders (or local folders) that are not instantly accessible (e.g. those that have since been deleted). Now the source of the bug is identified it can be patched. Surely?

Thank you dennians19!
Tried everything else in this thread and elsewhere, but "Expand to open folder" finally fixed it!
