For unsupported hardware types.. check to see if upcoming 22H2 update will be blocked

Thanks for clarifying things Bree. As far as performance on your Lenovo Yoga, are you seeing any difference between 22H2 and 21H2?
No, performance is the same. 22H2 seems to be more aimed at restoring UI features that were in Windows 10 and earlier, but got left out in 21H2. Features such as the ability to create named groups of apps on the Start menu, and drag-and-drop to the Taskbar.

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

unsupported machine: Legacy bios, MBR, TPM 1.2, upgraded from W10 to W11 using W10/W11 hybrid install media workaround. In-place upgrade to 22H2 using ISO and a workaround. Feature Update to 23H2 by manually installing the Enablement Package.

I'm glad to hear that. I run a dual OS on this pc (Linux Mint and Windows 11), and I think I will wait until 22H2 is out on the general channel before going to it. Then I can deal with the possibility of a broken boot loader like I had last time when I went from Windows 10 to 11. It wasn't a real big issue, but I think I'm going to hold off for a bit longer.

I just installed 22621 on the hp8300 - no problem with compatibility because I used the 7-zip method. But how to set up without ms account?

There is no obvious way round it that I can see.

I will try this:

Yes that works :)

just missing one driver

PCI Serial Port PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E3D&SUBSYS_3397103C&REV_04\3&11583659&0&B3
Glad it worked for you SIW2. Hope your updates are going well.

So am I for my main machines, but fortunately I have a spare or two so I can use them to try out 22H2 and see what's coming....

Cumulative updates should work fine.

If you have a RedReason set in the NI22H2 key what you almost certainly won't see being offered in Windows Update on an unsupported device currently running Win11 21H2 is the Feature Update to 22H2 once it gets its public launch. If you want to upgrade then you'd have to do an in-place upgrade yourself with a workaround to get past the compatibility checks. After thast it should get all the updates as normal.
Yep.. I don't need them telling me to upgrade...I'm a big boy...LOL
