Solved Fujitsu Esprimo Q920 - 24H2 ?

Hi,

I plan to buy a Fujitsu Esprimo Q920 with a 4th Generation Intel i5-4590T CPU.

It says it has UEFI, TPM 1.2 and supports SSE 4.2 and POPCNT.
(some sites even claim it has TPM 2.0, when activated in the BIOS)

Could somone maybe enlighten me here a bit?

1.)
Planning to install 24H2 the official way then, TPM 1.2 would be the only culprit here, right?
Or would the CPU be not be compatible as well?

2.)
Would using a bypass method (CPU, TPM, SecureBoot) like Rufus enable me to install 24H2 on the Esprimo Q920 without problems?

TPM 1.2. (Maybe a firmware TPM.)

No Intel CPUs older than Gen8 are supported for Windows 11. (Exceptions: Socket 2066 high-end desktop CPUs. Gen7, but with the X suffix.)

I see no reason why an unsupported 11 installation wouldn't work, with the usual limitations. (Maybe having to do major updates, like from 23H2 to 24H2, manually.)

Rufus may not be the easiest method. (I haven't used it.) There's a lot of discussion in these forums about ways to do that.

I used a Registry key when I first put 11 on a cheap laptop which met all requirements, save it had a Gen6 CPU. The Windows installer detected the unsupported CPU, and asked me if I wished to proceed. I did.

Im still reading about RUFUS and it looks indeed promising.

Having to manually install drivers later, that might no longer exist or fail, is one thing.
Still, having a 24H2 running, for some youtube or surfing, would be my main goal.

Some lag or errors wouldnt be a problem, if its not about dozens of bluescreens for unknown reasons. ;)


Reads like as if future updates might as well suddenly make the Windows 11 installation stop working "out of nowhere":
"While this trick is still supported as of version 24H2, the latest Insider builds in the Cnary channel have blocked this workaround for installing Windows 11. It may no longer work in the future."

24H2 can be installed on unsupported devices with a 1st gen of higher Intel processor. My System Two has it running on a 1st gen i5.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    My SYSTEM SIX is a Dell Latitude 5550, Core Ultra 7 165H, 64GB RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD, supported device, Windows 11 Pro 24H2, Hyper-V host machine. Updated to 25H2 on 30th September 2025.

    My SYSTEM SEVEN is a Lenovo Thinkpad T580, Intel Core i7-8650U, 16GB RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD + 2nd 512GB NVMe SSD, a supported device for Windows 11. This is my current general purpose 'main machine'. The installed Windows 11 Home from my System One has been migrated to this machine.
Download and run WhyNotWin11.exe to see what else is not supported.

I have a i7 2600 CPU (14 years old) with 8G of memory and Win 11 runs very well.
As Ghot already suggested, use Rufus to bypass the restrictions
