FYI: Windows repair install sets install date of all programs to today's date

After my successful Windows repair install, I decided to run Revo Uninstaller Pro (which now works again ...) and I noticed the install date of all programs was today.

A clean install and in place upgrade repair (on a clean install from years ago) when performed on the same day can display the same install date.

It is somewhat logical if you think about it. A big annoyance though.

What exactly are we talking about? Are you saying all Programs and Apps listed in Settings are "re-installed" with today's date? Or the timestamps on individual Windows or app folders are reset to today?

As I said in post #1, Revo Pro show all installed programs installed as of the date I did the Windows Repair Install. I don't know the exact mechanism which changed the install dates. I have never done a Windows Repair Install before. Because my windows install was so "sick," it took lots of extra time to just mount the Windows ISO file. My takeaway is to maintain a current Windows ISO.
