May need Net Frameworks 3.0 to allow it to install (guessing).

EDIT:
  • Some error message appears when I try to open gadgets!
Some gadgets require the .NET Framework to be installed. Try this: Press Win+X, select control panel, search for "Turn Windows features on or off" and select everything with ".NET" in its name. Press OK.

Only need the basic .NET 3 stuff, not the ones underneath it, right? By underneath, I mean the sub check boxes....which you only see after hitting the +

I've never needed those before, ever.

I have this when i open 8GadgetPack.
I get something like that on my desktop running Windows 11 in a VM. I'm hoping that when I update my Insider build of Windows 10, 8GadgetPack runs OK.

Well, most gadgets in Win 10 are 3rd party. However, very recently, Windows added a New and Weather mini gadget that resides on the taskbar.

Windows 11 ups that by only putting a button on the taskbar for the gadget, but the gadget takes up about a 3rd of your screen, including similar info as the new Win10 News and Weather gadget.

I tried to take a ss but the file was too large - let me shrink it an I'll attach it.

If you want a very good desktop weather gadget, I have Sense Desktop, and it's great. It's only $0.99.
