Good Stress Test

Hi, everyone.
What's a good, free stress test out there I can use? I'm using HeavyLoad and was wanting to see if there's one better.

Note: I would make a backup as well.
P95 is stressful enough to corrupt Windows files, if things aren't rock solid stable. ^^

Might want to work your way up to Prime 95. Maybe try Cinebench, first...
If your cooling can't handle Cinebench, it definitely won't handle Prime 95.

I was just reading about "Heavyload". It looks a lot like AIDA64's stress test.
AIDA64's test is pretty mild compared to Cinebench and Prime95

I just installed a Corsair iCUE H60i RGB Pro XT and wanted to see how it was cooling. Things are running pretty well - about mid- to high-70 C. When I'm doing more than just stressing the system.

Dadgummed cooler had more wires than my MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge WIFI motherboard, though. Everything is working well except there are no lights. It also took some finagling to get into the case. Not as easy an install as they led me to believe. I'm stressing my system now. It's sitting about 67C.

I'm not overclocking my system, so no worries there, either.

You should be fine then.

Back in the day, there was one that was tougher. It was called OCCT.
But about 8-10 years ago, they took all the teeth out of that one.

That's why I like the H60.. you only need two power connections.. one for the case fan to the radiator and the one that runs the pump. If I recall you can use a sata cable to power the pump.

Ah, the good old days, when ships were wood and men were iron...

I also have a lot of stress testing overclock pics of the AMD 5000+ on an ASUS M2N32SLI Deluxe (wireless), but they're on some HDD in a box somewhere. I checked my bookmarks from those days on the OCing sites, but the pics all got the big RED X, after all this time.

Well, I found a pic of my AMD 5000+ overclock...
This comp is still assembled, and still works. Haven't turned it on in at least 12 years... maybe longer?

And here's my old AMD FX 4170, that I got to boot into 5Ghz, but was in no way stable...
Was actually a cherry chip, but within a week I moved up to 8 cores with the AMD FX 8350.

Not yet. I'm now trying to sort out my sound. Every time I unplug it, it never wants to work on replug. :-(

Where are you plugging and unplugging, (front or back), and what are you plugging and unplugging, (speakers, headphones, headset)?

Plugging it into the back. I'm plugging in a Cyber Acoustics sounds system (2 rears and one subwoofer). I've followed the manual, tried every output jack. Nothing. *sigh*

The front jack works...

The front jack works...

For a 2.1 speaker set, you should be using the "green" jack on the back of the motherboard.
And sometimes, you need to wiggle those 3.5mm jacks a bit. The female connector gets "sprung" sometimes.

Like, turn on some music, then wiggle the jack a bit. Try slightly more in or out as well.
See if a certain position gets you the sound.

I had one motherboard that from day one had a sprung female connector.
I had to stick a paper match part way in (once I found the right spot), to get the 3.5mm jack to make contact.

If the speakers work on the front connector, then you know the speakers and the onboard sound chip are OK.
All that's left, other than maybe a software setting, is the green female connector on the back.

I'm trying very hard, not to type: "that's what she said".

Yeah, nothing worked. I just plugged it into the front since that seems to be the only way to use it. I'll try more tomorrow. Already past my bedtime! Thanks for helping!

Now you need to check the software end of things.
See if you have something under the Start menu like Realtek Audio Control?
Yours will be different probably, being as how you're on an MSI motherboard.

These are the settings you need to be concerned with...

You should also check the Windows sound settings. At the moment I'm too lazy to get on Windows 11, but chck the settings down by the clock, and under Sound in Control Panel.

Like check all this stuff too...

If the green jack on the back never worked... it may be bad.
If it used to work, then it has to be the female connector is sprung (or has become bad), or a software setting.

The connector on the front of the comp, also uses the sound chip on the motherboard, and also uses the speakers.
So we know those two things are... working.

You might also want to contact MSI tech support on Monday and ask them what they think...

IF... worse comes to worst (and it turns out not to be a software setting), and the green female connector on the back is now bad... your motherboard should still be under warranty.
