google chrome magically jumping when loading new images

Google chrome magically jumping to the top when it needs to load new images on a single image search .. .
which makes me loose the "stupid" focus of the position where i was before the new images appear .... .

Are you using auto-scroll?

Chrome's "auto-scroll" feature is designed to prevent you from losing your place when you accidentally click away from a long page. This feature might be causing the unwanted jumps.
To disable it:
Go to Chrome Settings > Advanced > Auto scroll.
Uncheck the "Auto scroll" box

To access the hidden advanced settings in Chrome, type: chrome://flags in the address bar and press Enter. The list of available settings displays by default on the Available tab.

i don't see auto scroll there .. .

Start with the simplest solutions, Restart Chrome, your computer, and update your browser to the latest version.
Clear cache and data - This can resolve many temporary glitches.
Disable extensions - Identify any extensions that might be causing the issue, Have you also tried another browser?
this was an issue for me - trying to recall back to 2017? Hopefully more users will post....
