Google DNS can't find IP addresses

I have no idea where to start trying to solve this problem: I repeatedly get these notices that my server can't find the addresses of places whose addresses it knows perfectly well. I'm using the Google DNS at present: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, and that server should be able to find ANYthing immediately.
I'm in the country, and on satellite, but that shouldn't be relevant.
Any suggestions you make will be carefully considered and followed up.

Trying that now. Restarted after reset. Now It'll take a while to see whether I get those "Can't find IP" messages again. They aren't consistently there. (They mainly pop up when I really want to GO somewhere on the Net.)
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll report.

Another thing to try is set the DNS servers to automatic as provided by your ISP. Do that in Windows and on your router or satellite thingy.

Okay, so far I've switched from Google to Open DNS on both my desktop and my router, and I've flushed the DNS cache.
Since I finished adjusting those settings, I've had no new "can't be reached" pop-ups. Time will tell. So far, so good.

If the router is set to OpenDNS you could leave the computers set to automatic. (DHCP)
If you travel with a laptop, manually setting your DNS can prevent you connecting to wifi in hotels etc.

I have IP assignment set to automatic. I don’t think you can set DNS to automatic. You have to specify a DNS or you’ll just get your ISP’s default.

Used default for years, and was unhappy with its resolution speed. Google and OpenDNS are much faster and more reliable.

until now! I run Steve Gibson's utility from time to time and the ISP's DNS servers come top. I'm just suggesting you try them again, at least they worked even if OpenDNS and Google were subjectively quicker.
