Solved GPU Usage Reaching 100 Percent when Computer is Idle

I know I've seen a thread like this recently, but can't find it.

My 3070 Ti is running at around 80 to 100% "3D usage" and the computer is just sitting idle with no programs running other than Resource Monitor. Like this:

I'm thinking that someone is running a crypto-mining thing on my PC. Doing a full scan now, but how do I see what processes are using the GPU like that?

However, 12% CPU utilization at idle seems high. What process is using that? (Processes screen in Task Manager.)

Help me with GPU 100% usage - Windows 10 Help Forums

Can someone please help me why is my GPU all of a sudden showing 100% usage. AS you can clearly see that the 3D box graph is at maximum. I am not running any game or any other software. Please guide me what to do ? I have just updated windows to the new 2

Here's how:
In task manager select Processes.
If the GPU column isn't present, click on a header and select GPU.
Click on the GPU header to make the arrow point down.
Now you can see what process is utilizing the GPU.

3070TI here Idle 1% CPU 0% 3D GPU. On 22H2 (OS Build 22623.870) Insider Beta. Nvidia Driver 522.25
Same with GTX1060 but 22H2 (OS Build 22621.755) Insider Preview. Nvidia Driver 522.25

Looks like the problem may be Win11 build specific rather than Nvidia?

Aha! @Ghot and @A Guy pointed me in the right direction. I set the power management setting to "Normal" and the card has settled back down and is OK, so thanks to you both.

Also in my scan I found two cryto-miner trojans on my machine. Not sure if they were activated or not yet, but getting rid of them did not affect the GPU usage. Now that I have set the power setting, all is well.

I'm having the same problem and pointed it to Desktop Window Manager and Google Chrome. How would I go about fixing this? Also, it tends to go up and down quite a lot. I can't find a solution anywhere but when I check the GeForce performance Overlay It says my CPU and GPU utilization is 3%. I also scanned over 400k files on all my drives to check for viruses with 2 different antivirus programs, Malwarebytes and Avast.
