Has anyone noticed anything peculiar about the new start menu?

And much easier than trying to fix known bugs. The first bug that comes to mind is Networking because I've been reading a few threads about users not being able to access other computers on their network. I have read post in the past were members have said there is nothing wrong with Windows networking but I disagree. IMHO, There is no reason that some users have to go through H*ll and high water to get networking setup and working.

Yesterday (3/12/26) I had a Windows update and it appears to have fixed my issues with selecting items in the Start menu. It is no longer opening random apps/programs when I make a selection. I have restarted my computer multiple times and menu selections continue to function properly for me.

I did my recent updates and the switcheroo problem is still happening with my start menu icons. No telling what you will get when you open a folder in the start menu. You really have to pay attention to what you are clicking on to avoid pain, anguish, frustration, computer abuse, self abuse, physical violence and the cost af a new computer when this one is smashed...

I knew it!!! I just knew MS had an ulterior motive for this OS!!! They must have struck a deal with OEM's to make things so dickered and confusing that users would smash their sh*t to pieces and have to buy new stuff!!! :woozy:

I believe the new term the kids are using is vibe. You program a vibe. Seems like lately MS has getting a lot of bad ones... vibes that is.

Holy weirdness, Batman. :rolleyes:

Allowing for the continuous reality distortion effect that seems to surround me, my start menu icons are still all over the place and change places every time I open a sub menu. I am not quite getting why.

I was hoping an update might fix it, and I went through three of them with no luck. Something is definitely odd about this. I am going to do a little bit of house cleaning in my PC and see if it fixes things. I will post back if I find a solution.

BTW, I have been trying to capture a screen shot of the start menu, but I can't figure out how. I wanted to visually show what is happening. I will have to do some figuring. I'll be glad to see that back of this problem.

Use the 'Snipping Tool' with a delay of 10 seconds - this gives you time to open up the 'Start' menu & snip what you want.

The only "peculiar" thing I've noticed about the new Start Menu is the fact that I still haven't seen it yet - on all 3 of my desktop PC's.

I know I can get it with a Registry file I have here but I'm curious to see exactly how long it will take if I wait for it to appear through Windows Update.

I'm in Perth, Australia by the way. Perhaps MS has forgotten about us 'down here'? :-)

It's the new start menu but I used the Windhawk "Windows 11 Start Menu Styler" mod with my own settings to tweak it a little bit. Recently I also added the Windhawk "Start Menu Size" mod:

I was wondering if you used Windhawk. I'm using it as well but haven't tried the Start Menu Size mod. Screenshot (7).webpI've gotten use to all my apps in one display on the big menu.
