Comparing oranges and apples.

It still has a long way to go until it has the flexibility of Macrium Reflect.

It is a potential alternative to the free version if Reflect but not for the paid version.

There will always be those whose philosophy is 'I expect things for free'. I bet they don't go into their local supermarket and apply that philosophy there.

Although there has been a price increase of Macrium Reflect, spread out over 3-4 years, it is not that expensive.

The real concern to those who DO PAY for it is if the next version is lease only - that could be a killer.

It is pointless saying Hasleo is a killer to the free version, when Paramount have effectively done that anyway.

Hasleo is definitely a reliable imaging solution for the majority. The team is small, but they listen to users and shape the product effectively. Once V4 stable releases, let us see what the new beta brings.

Is it different from the beta ?

I had a quick look at the beta and it wasnt immediately obvious how to run it in custom pe from a usb stick. For obvious reasons, it is better for the programs to be on the usb stick and not inside the wim file. Easily done with macrium, aomei, etc.

Their software remains packaged within the WIM. It has not been structured for standalone usage as of yet, it requires a SERVICE to be launched to run outside of the WIM and they haven't approached that need yet... they are considering it so that it may eventually run in a fully portable mode.

I'd found that version 4 beta3 caused Bitdefender AV to panic while I was trying to generate a USB Hasleo "emergency" boot disc. This happened even with Bitdefender turned off, or with the Hasleo directory(s) put into Bitdefender's "Don't Touch" basket.

With the final release of version 4, Hasleo has resolved this. How is not really relevant, to me at any rate, and I doubt the Hasleo team were even aware of the beta3/Bitdefender issue. Nonetheless, final version 4 happily co-exists with Bitdefender now. Probably until an MS update breaks something again, then Hasleo ... etc.

I used Hasleo version 4 and performed a backup with no problems. I find it easy to use and just as fast as Macrium v-8 backup image. The rescue media was slow to make and install to a usb. I have not tried to boot with it yet. I think it is going to be great software. I will play with it some more and post back.

I think the rise of Hasleo Backup Suite might be enough to prevent Macrium from making Reflect lease only.
Once customers leave a program and find something as good, or almost as good, it's difficult to get them back.
But we still don't know what model the non-free version of Hasleo Backup Suite is going to use.

From the group's history of products, you may never see a PAID version of this app. They seem to derive their income from only a few products that require a COMMERCIAL license, personal, non-commercial licenses almost always are FREE.

From my most recent discussions with their team(s), they have no current plans to even commercialize HBS and aren't even discussing that option. They are a group of "Having Fun" software developers at the moment, and have been that way since their inception as EasyUEFI.
