Buying through the link you end up at Hasleo where the price is already at a discount price. So adding the code does nothing.

For those asking about a deprecated FREE version now that the PAID version is available...

Probable the main loss is the ability to use HBS FREE on all Windows versions... FREE can no longer be used on ENTERPRISE, EDUCATION or SERVER. The second major area of loss is in the RECOVERY mode with the use of "Advanced Mode." This is the area where an image could be restored to an existing disk without destroying existing partitions (I've use this feature once).

Those are the two largest deprecated areas I've found...

...and remember, the v5.5.2.0 FREE version and beyond will continue to be supported. Earlier versions will most likely not be.

There is a problem with the data recovery. In both the pe created by the program itself and the one I made

The slider on the right pane moves, but it doesnt do anything - it doesnt scroll up the folders

Then tried with the pe the progarm makes

Same problem with the slider having no effect

was able to preview a couple of images but attempting to view another it froze.

Had to use the power switch on the pc case to shut down

Does that apply to partition mode recovery where you can restore one partition at a time. That would make partition recovery useless?

I could see disk mode being all or nothing (indeed I thought it was like that in a recent post on the subject until corrected by another user).

Just tested it - it does not work in advanced mode for partition mode recovery or disk mode recovery.

In normal mode, you can recover partitions to unallocated space one by one but you have to size them manually which is unnecessarily complicated.

I use the feature to recover partitions to a drive containimg existing partitions a fair amount when messing around with virtual hard drives.

I personally consider this restriction to be a showstopper for the free version, accepting most users probably do not do such an activity.

Another lesser issue (may be an existing issue with older version) is that if you are restoring an image to a blank larger drive, if you do not change the default restore settings, it resizes the last partion to fill all space. Since this is the recovery partition, this is silly as you want to resize the C drive.

You can select to keep existing layout, then you end up with allocated space at the end. Whichever mode you choose, you have to use a tool like minitool partition wizard to tidy things up. OK, this is not a showstopper but could have been designed better. I am not sure if the pro version will do a better job without doing a trial with the pro trial version.

In the end, the Hasleo developers should study how Macrium Reflect does things, as I am not prepared to even buy a pro version unless it can handle partitions as slickly as Macrium Reflect V8.2/X.

I took the plunge yesterday on a Hasleo Pro Family (5) lifetime license with free updates, and joined their Forums. I am a "refugee" from the Macrium Reflect (MR) X subscription model. I have used for MR for years. I think I started with MR5. I still have, and use, my 4-license pack of Macrium Reflect 8, but eventually Windows will kill it, and regardless, there will be no further enhancements to it.

I also have two lifetime licenses for Easeus Todo Backup Home (ETBH) with free upgrades that I purchased years ago. I alternate my backups between my imaging programs. I don't like having all of my backup images in "one basket."

I have been following the Hasleo topics here and at Wilders for over a year. From what I was reading, Hasleo looked my best option to replace MR8.

So I may not be sensible, but the lifetime price for five computers with free upgrades was only $142.83 CA, after our taxes and the currency conversion. I expect the price will rise as HBSP gains traction and market share. That is much cheaper than and an MR X subscription after three years. I do dislike subscription models if there are reasonable alternatives.

I backed up both of my computers today using Hasleo Backup Suite Professional (HBSP) for the first time today and created Emergency USBs. It was incredibly easy to use. Even on low compression, partition images of my entire C: drive were smaller than both MR8 and ETBH. The backup speed was comparable to both MR8 and ETBH. I opted for the "Complete" Check Image, so that took longer than the MR8 "Verify Image," but was about the same as the ETBH "Check Image."

The Hasleo Forum is frequented by their employees, which is a small group, by their own admission, but now that they are selling HBSP, they will have some money coming in. These are relatively early days for the product. I expect great things. I think MR has some serious competition coming! The HBSP developers are very fast to implement customer feedback, within their currently limited resources.

The GUI is clean and professional. No razzle-dazzle. For me, this was a worthwhile investment. I would like to see MR dethroned; in my opinion, MR has become too arrogant. Their expensive subscription model, and its current numerous licensing verification issues, are well-documented in their Forums, of which I am a longtime member.

So that is my take on Hasleo with a couple of days experience.

The HBS (backup suite), HDC (disk clone) and HDR (data recovery) winpe pro keys are different from the installed key.

Havent come across that before. Yer macriums and aomeis etc can gather the files and key info from the installed version.

Can't do it that way with hasleo pro versions. Can gather the files but the installed pro key does not work in winpe. The program just runs as the free version.


One way is to create winpe from the program itself .


If you selected create iso:

Extract boot.wim.




















Then browse to the boot.wim if you are using one of my add-to-wim things

I suppose most people would only have the backup suite.

If you just have the one hasleo pro it can be easily done by browsing to the hbs created boot.wim as shown in post#634 linked below

What does 1 year licence mean exactly. What happens if you do not buy a licence?

1) Does the software stop working afrer one year?

2) Does it continue to work but nags you to buy a licence?

3) Does it go into restore mode only?

4) Does it revert to free mode operation (less features)?

My guess is the last of these options but it would be good to get clarity.

In my virtual environment testing after 1 year Hasleo pro revert to free mode
