Solved Help! Edge won't load many websites, connection times out.

Update: It's the nic on my new MSI MAG Z790 Tomahawk WiFi mobo.

removing and reinstalling the drivers has fixed it for now.

I just got win 11 installed, everything was going fine and now suddenley Edge won't load a lot of websites. Duckduckgo, reddit, anything that redirects to a microsoft website.

I can load this website, google, bing. Most search results won't load. I keep getting this all over the place.

It's only this pc I just clean installed 11 on. Every other pc/device in the house has no issues.

I tried reseting edge, I tried repairing edge

ok, it's not just edge. I downloaded mullvad on a different pc (on the same network with the same dns provider) and put it on a usb and installed it here.

Those same webpages will not load, they time out

So many things come into place in network communications.
The fact that a driver re-install fixed makes me question the quality of the driver, but have you checked for an updated driver?

• Test with a different browser or a private browsing session with no add-ons
• Any 3rd party customization apps in place, try disabling them if so
• From a command prompt try to ping 8.8.8.8 and a DNS entry like ping google.com, what are the results?
• If the other ping commands don't work try to ping your gateway or even 127.0.0.1, if neither of those work
• Check your route tables or just clear them with the command 'route delete'

I finally figured it out.

The MAC address of my old PC was bound to the IP I was using in the router > Security settings.
