Help new to building my ram is acting up


The one DIMM module is bad. G.skill make good RAM. Conservative choice would be getting RAM on the motherboard's Memory comparability list on it's web support pages.

G Skill's RAM Configurator is better than the motherboard QVL.
The QVL doesn't get updated that often, but G Skill does.

Over the years, I've noticed that the OVLs are out-of-date sometimes.
There's always one or two companies that keep their RAM compatibility tools... up-to-date.

The RAM companies have more to gain by being up to date. After all, they're selling the RAM.

also since this was my first pc build is getting bad parts common or is my luck just horrible because at first i was confident and ready now im just like is the pc going to boot up or i got the wrong part honestly i felt like i did more damage to the board when looking for the problem because i also bent some pins i was like oh crap but then i bent them back

1. The RAM I linked is the right part.
2. You just get a bad stick of RAM. We call it the silicon lottery. It happens sometimes.



On the Gskill RAM Configurator page... when you click search (#4) in my picture... it only lists the RAM that has been tested on your motherboard, and has been found to be compatible.

Yea i had to dig in the garbage bin trying to get the package stuff back but damn man i was ready to play this whole week now i get why people have trust issues with companies in this type of environment

No... like I said... it just happens sometimes.
It happens to the best companies or retailers sometimes.

Remember, they're making hundreds of thousands of RAM stick sets.
The odds are... that a few sticks here and there, are gonna be bad.



You have two RAM sticks, right?
And one of those sticks doesn't work, no matter which slot you put it in, right?

If both of those statements are true... then you have a dead RAM stick.

Yeah i typed the model on msi motherboard compatibility and it showed up so i should be good right

Also: they don't test all the RAM that on the market. I've used unlisted RAM in the past, without problems. Lucky, I guess.

As long as its ddr4 it should work right or is that just one of the many details a ram need to be compatible with a motherboard. Also i just ordered the gskills :)
