I'm curious to know if anyone else is seeing this and even more interested in a permanent solution.
I begin with a machine that is working perfectly fine. Suddenly out of nowhere I see this:
This happens on every single one of my machines and has been ongoing for months now accross multiple builds of Windows 11 24H2. Every time the symptoms are the same.
First, Windows knows that I am on a private network...
But if I go into Advanced sharing settings it says that my current profile is for a Public network...
Currently, I have two workarounds, neither of which is ideal. I'm seeking a permanent fix.
1) Enable Network sharing on both Private and Public networks. Not a fan of this one, especially on laptops for obvious reasons.
2) Perform a full network reset in Windows settings. That will solve the issue right up until it happens again.
As noted, this happens on every single machine out of the blue. I can't make any logical sense of it.
