for context my battery on my laptop died (cant charge but i can turn it on) and i wanted to update my pc but it needs to be 40% charged, so im wondering if anyone have a bypass for this

Hello,
I had the same issue with an old ASUS laptop without battery.
While in the BIOS menu, click F11 (and hold it) while selecting the new BIOS file you want to flash it with.
That file will need to be readily available on an external drive and/or accessible to the BIOS.

Remove the battery and just run from the power adapter. Fixed.

EDIT Probably should do this anyway. An non-functioning aging battery can lead to other problems.

Have you still got all the laptop proprietary system management bloatware, that comes with the device, still installed?

Use RevoUninstaller to remove it COMPLETELY (incl Advanced option to remove leftover files/folders/registry entries)

Alternatively, go to services.msc, and look for every "asus" entry. Right-click on each, one by one > Properties > Stop (wait until stopped) > change Startup type to Disable > repeat for every Asus entry > reboot.

It really is not easy to remove batteries on most laptops these days.

In any case, this may not work - I gave solution in post #8.

Frankly I do not think we will see OP anymore anyway. Probably pointless responding anymore untill we hear from OP.
