how do i get rid of this icon font type

this white font with shadow is very annoying.how do i chnage this to the good ole fashioned black font no shadow

both w11 and w10 if you can as i have this on both

Have you opened the Fonts item in Settings, Personalization and Fonts to check the previews for what you see? If so what is the name of it?

The color of font on desktop depends on the theme you are using. You can create you own font color settings by using a high contrast theme. Or download a good ready built contrast theme from the store. IMO It is easier than messing with it.

Check advanced system settings > performance as well. I recall some settings for shadows being located there

FYI. Rather than creating new themes, if you have a theme you like on another machine, even in another version of windows, you can copy it, and use it where-ever you want. I created 2 themes in windows 7. I use one of them in 10 and another in 11.
User-created themes are stored in the “C:\Users\ yourusername\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Themes” folder
