Last night, a storm here, knocked out power for over 4 hours. Since it was restored, I have not been able to pair my Phonak hearing aids to the PC. They were paired the moment the power went out. When I open settings, I get a notice that connection failed (see photos). I talked to Phonak, and they could only suggest I remove the device, and re-pair it. When I click on remove device, it says "removing device" for a bit, and then "removal failed". The Phonak tech guy said, I will have to remove the driver in order to uninstall it. I read the tutorials on how to remove a driver, and the bluetooth is not on the list of things to un-install. My motherboard has built in blue tooth, but at the time of the power outage, I was using a USB bluetooth adaptor. l don't know what to look for to remove. The third picture is the list of bluetooth devices in my Device Manager.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.

You can remove a bluetooth device in Device Manager. Right-click on it and select 'Uninstall device', optionally you can tick 'Attempt to remove the driver for this device'.

Then select Action > Scan for hardware changes and Device Manager will reinstall bluetooth.

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

Possible cause:
1. If you have a built in bluetooth device. you'll need to disable it to use the external USB Bluetooth device to avoid conflict. Can be done in the BIOS or disable via Device Manager.
2. If you have any other bluetooth device near by such as smart phone, tablet etc... then when you turn on your hearing aid, it might connect to one of those other than your PC. Turn off the bluetooth on other devices except your PC.
