I had the same issue on the Settings Home screen which is why I've disabled the Home Screen and Settings just opens to System now lol.
Since I don't use desktop icons (hate them) I keep my everyday apps on the taskbar and all my regular apps pinned to the new style start menu. I keep Grid view enabled below the pinned items since the category view won't allow us to arrange the apps the way WE want.Good point about search @FrancoDT. Every once in a while I have to use the seach box which of course opens the start menu search results. I'm just saying I don't use the start menu as my main point of navigation and I've removed everything from it that I can. I do use the power menu a lot and love snap layouts, but for the most part, I'm not a sophitacated user as are many of the users here so I'm probably missing out on some useful features by remaining such a simple old woman who is a creature of habit.
Another verse to this song that I probably should be too embarrassed to reveal .....I rarely ever search for files in file explorer. I know my folder/file structure and can get to what I want easily with no real need to search. A friend tried to get me to use Everything Search. It overwhelmed me. I couldn't get that sucker off my PC fast enough. Was just too.....much.

You can have a hybrid account, a local account the has your MS account set up as an account that MS apps can use. That's what I have. In fact, if you currently sign in with your MS account and switch to a local account that's what you'll end up with. OneDrive etc. continues to work normally, but I'm signing in with a local account.
In Winhance, click the Optimize icon (left side) then scroll down to the General section and turn off personalized ads and suggested content.
Adding those reg keys got rid of exactly that on all three of my machines. Turns out the old machine that didn't have them had the keys already as I had apparently found and added them quite sometime ago. Just added them to the other two machines and now they are clean of them.
I do not have that Key? Do you have to add Cloud Content and well?

I had to manually add the three D-word values to the folder. If you don't have the folder as well you'll you'll need to create the folder in that location then add those three keys to it. Course you want to be comfortable doing manual registry edits.
