How fast can your comp find all the Prime numbers from 1 to 1,000,000?

Hmm that wasted a minute or so.

Win 11 / Stock CPU / 3,200Mhz Ram

I just found out, that if you have a 3rd party antivirus running, it will seriously affect your score on this benchmark.
WITH Bitdefender running, I was hitting 17+ seconds. With it off, I'm hitting 4.14 seconds.

There's a lot less "junk" running in the background on Win 7. ^^
Task Manager has a lot fewer items on Win 7, as does Services.

I can still remember having approx. 35 entries in Task Manager on Windows 7.
And I still have pics of my Windows Services settings.
Win 10 and Win 11 have 25-30% more Services listed than Windows 7 did.

Same 3rd party programs on all three OSes.

It's highly dependent on what other processes may be running. Compare these two from the same machine. The first was after just resuming from hibernation, with things like SysMain running in the background. The second was after settling down after a restart, and with Defender real time protection turned off.



Running in Safe Mode can be a fraction faster still....

It helps when you're following the instructions. At first, it was reporting just over 1 second. I was using the defaults. Here are my results set at 1,000,000:

I didn't even think of that. I have Edge, Winamp, Word, and Outlook running. Does it make a difference? Let's see....

EDIT: Nope. No difference.

Very nice.. my 2700x did rather well I think

I was pleased with my 3:71 turning of the AV didn't make it any faster.

win7 x64, 16gb ddr4 ram, crucial mx300 ssd. B365 mobo.
