How often do you do a full back-up

Think of this scenario.... You've been gone all day, at work, play or Dr's app, and when you enter the room where you keep your computer, HORRORS, it's gone! What do you do then?
I only ask, because it happened to me. And, at the time, I had only ONE computer, or NONE as it turned out to be.
Hi there
not wanting to be facetious but if the laptop is gone --then you won't need to do any backups !!!.

I'd love to see types of James Bond 007 devices installed in laptops so if they "go walkies" all sorts of nasties will be ejected into the face of people who attempt to use them -- but I suppose some woke person will complain if anyone does this -- I believe some people were jailed for doing this sort of thing to protect their cars. !!!

Actually getting back to the topic again -- it shows also the importance of not having important data on the laptop -- just back it up to external NAS, external devices (stored elsewhere than your main residence) and use the cloud -- cloud storage is cheap reliable and pretty impregnible if you use the better providers e.g google or Ms.

If you have to get a new laptop commiserations on the expense --hopefully home had content insurance cover ---- then you will probably have to re-install windows anyway so unless you got a full retail version of Windows on the old one then a restore assuming you had an image) would probably result in a non activated version of windows. The chances are that a replacement laptop will come with Windows already installed on it in any case.

cheers
