Solved How to completely remove number-named file folder?

Hi friends,

New question for you.

After Direct upgrading Win10 to Win11 on my PC, a Wondows.old folder appeared in C:\. Today I compulsively deleted it using some tool but another folder named with a number emerged, which is tens of KB in size and contains thousands of subdirectories. I've deleted the number named folder with the same toole for many times, but it always emerges with a varying number each time.

Does anyone of you have idea to completely remove this folder? Thanks.

If the folder keep been created the folder created by one of installed applications without uninstalling the program, you can't make the folder go away.

The Windows.old folder will be deleted automatically after two weeks. Or you can use Disk Clean-up. Another way is to use Storage Sense. It is a system folder and can't be deleted with normal methods.

Window's Disk Cleanup will remove the windows.old folder as well.

Thanks. I maybe able to find that program and abort its course for deleting this folder.

Thanks. I will try this way. Do not know why the Windows.old folder was not automatically totally removed.

I have done it by checking C: drive and the subsequent defragmentation on it.
