How to defeat caps lock?

I have a program that goes with my Logitech K350 keyboard that allows me to adjust what some of the keys do by default. One of the settings I try over and over is to defeat the Caps Lock key. It never sticks.

That slows down my typing a lot because I can't seem to not hit that key and have to backup and change what it put in caps. Is there a fix for this like a program that actually works to keep the caps lock key turned off?

Hi, Larry.

I have a Corsair K95 Platinum that is killing me in regards to the caps lock. Like you, I can't help myself and coNtinUOusLy hit the caps lock key which is super sensitive on my keyboard.

For the time being, I am using the following very small and probably zero footprint -- CapsUnlock.

It's very old though (2004) I just haven't had time to find something more recent.
It does work but every now and again I have to disable then enable all in the same process to give it a kick.

It's called Setpoint Settings Edwin. It allows you to adjust the mouse settings and assign new values to some of the keys. You can set keys to open programs and do other functions. I think most of those work well, it just seems that something overrides or resets the caps lock key when it has been turned off. I've installed Antspants suggested program to see how well it works.

Some old programs work fine if they were written following all of Microsoft's rules. I still use a part of IBM's "Lotus 1-2-3" that's from about 1995 and have run it on every version of Windows since Windows 95. That would include Windows 98, ME, Vista, XP, 7, 8, 10 and 11.

yep i use it. tried a handful of workarounds with triggering it to lock pc via changing profile. i just want that winlock key to lock windows lmao... so if anyone knows how to make user acct lock trigger when windows key is disabled, that would work.

unless anyone knows of a software that can recognize that key to remap it

yeah g4 locks and g1 hibernates. just want the lock key to lock it lol. ocd... thats all

@dacrone Did you try that scancode utility I mentioned above, to see if it picks up the key? It has a ScanCodeView tool that will just show you the scan codes, without remapping.
