Hi,
I know that the standard length of time that you are given is ten days after upgrading to windows 11. I've been hearing of a method to increase that time to 60 days, does anyone know how to do this safely ? I'm still trying to decide if I want to stick with windows 11 or utilize the rollback option to revert back to windows 10. While I was still using windows 10 I was using the latest insider release preview build. So when I upgraded to windows 11 I'm also on the release preview insider build. I just don't want to wait too long and not be able to revert back to windows 10 if I decide that's what I want to do.

Of course, the best way is to create a system image before the upgrade to have available to restore if needed.

I now have the value set to 60 days, that should give me ample time to evaluate whether or not I want to keep windows 11 or rollback to windows 10.

A system image backup is a far better and more reliable way of reverting. Rollbacks are too unreliable and just fail too often.

Feels like there should be a mandatory step in the signup process, for new users, to read a blurb on having an image backup of their OS. This would have helped me as I do not have an archived image copy of my Win 10 OS (not that I ever expect to need it).

Prior to the Win 11 adventure I had extensive backups of my data, but no OS images. Since then I have made countless image copies of my OS and have run restores many times, and even recently did a test of the Rapid Delta Restore just to see how long it would take.

I also want to extend the rollback length to 60 but when I tried the prompt it said “error:(i forgot the number) element not found” and I think it’s because I have a newer version? Is there anything else I can do to extend the length?

Hello, and welcome to Eleven Forum.

When DISM reports the Error 1168, Element not found error message, it indicates the previous version has been deleted, and there's currently not a previous version to go back to. :(

I’m going to try to revert back to windows 10 using the Media Creation Tool from Lenovo, is that a good method?

Going back to Win 10 from Win 11 requires a clean install. After this you will need to reinstall all your apps and restore your data (if it is on the same partition).

Consider sticking with Win 11 and find tools to customize it to your needs.

If you decide to clean install then get a copy of all your drivers (just in case), make a backup of your online credentials, get and install an official ISO from Microsoft. Then go to the Lenovo site and get any support utilities you think you may need.

NOT necessarily. You can go back to where you left off like nothing happened in 15 mins or less. Backup image.
