How to find date of Win 11 upgrade from 10?

Is there anywhere that will show the date Windows 10 was upgraded to 11?

Welcome to Eleven Forum

Unless you have subsequently reinstalled Win11, then it should be the 'installed on' date shown in Settings > System > About.

You can also see the date of every upgrade you PC has ever had in the Registry. Each upgrade has its own key under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to lid hinges starting to break up this laptop has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    I've now clean installed 25H2 and used Garlin's scripts to update Secure Boot to CA 2023 and revoke the PCA 2011 certificates. It's new role is to test secure boot issues.

    Info for 2021-2026:
    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

All upgrades, including an in-place upgrade, record a key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup with a name including the time and date of the update. You'll find it there.

Do you have Windows Pro with Hyper-V? if so then you can boot a Macrium image as a virtual machine using viBoot. If you have Home and Reflect v8, then you can also use viBoot with VirtualBox.

Failing that, if you mount the Macrium image then look at the properties of C:\Windows\explorer.exe then the Details tab will show the build number in the File version. For Windows 11 that's 22000.

Thank you all. I have located the relevant image. I got the ballpark period by locating the date of my receipt for Start11. I browsed a few images looking at the explorer.exe version number then confirmed my pick by usingMacrium voBoot - a whole new experience for me. I shall definitely be using it again I'm sure.

One thing that I wondered: if I make changes to a Reflect image file whilst in viBoot and save them, will those changes appear in a restore performed from that image?

No. The original .mrimg file will never be changed. You can of course make a Reflect image of the VM before you delete it if you want to keep any changes you've made. You can make a Full image or a Differential to add to the original image. Either would do, but the Differential will be smaller. You can then restore these images to any machine.

With a Differential you'll have a choice of what to restore. If you want a restore to include your changes, then restore from the Differential, or just restore the original Full image if you don't want to restore the changes. See Part Four of the tutorial.

I find labelling helps.....a lot

I'm on Win 10 at the moment. But In July 2020, I did an In-Place Upgrade from Win 10 1909 to Win 10 2004.
Ofc, Windows Update then did it's thing. So... this is an easy way to check install dates.

So... when you upgraded from Win 10 to Win 11, it should have also, wiped out the previous Windows Updates.
So, after the get-hotfix command, the earliest update should be the upgrade date as well.
