How to get a Preview with Mouse hover over selection in File Explorer\View

Bought a new laptop and with it a move from Win 10 to Win 11. My question involves File Explorer and View options. In Win 10, when I had multiple file icons showing, I could select View and when I hovered the mouse pointer over a selection it would show a preview of how that selection would look. For instance, if I had Large Icons selected, I could click View and scroll over Details and I could see the details of all files without selecting it. This is useful when I compare dates across multiple files (without selecting and then selecting back). In Win 11 I can’t figure out how to make the hover preview work. Is this feature available in Win 11?

I think that feature only works with W10 style ribbon.

This is what I did to get the Win 10 ribbon back, this can also be reversed if you want.

1. Open an admin Command Prompt window.

2. Type the following command:
fsutil hardlink list c:\windows\explorer.exe

3. Copy the “WinSxS” link path to the clipboard. On MY system, the hard link for explorer.exe is below. It might be different on your computer, depending upon your OS build/version.
\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-explorer_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.22621.608_none_b3fd0d5042b63bbd\explorer.exe

4. Start Regedit.exe and go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

5. Double-click “Shell” and set its data as follows:
C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-explorer_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.22621.608_none_b3fd0d5042b63bbd\explorer.exe

6. Exit the Registry Editor.

7. Restart Explorer via Task Manager, or log off and log back into your account
