How to pass the Windows 11 Compatibility Checks

So regardless of if we manage to upgrade incompatible devices to W11 ( currently upgrading the same Surface Book with the Media Creation Tool downloaded files - But again disabled the Checker via removal of the appraiserres.dll ) they'll simply disable Automatic Updates to those devices from their side via their servers? 🤔

I mean... I can get behind their reasoning for the need of TPM 2.0 and the likes but what's the point with not allowing an Upgrade because of a CPU being too old ( that being the only thing the Checker complained about on my old Surface Book )? Especially with my SB's CPU deficiency being only its age/generation, not the Speed ( requirement of 1GHz surpassed by 2.6x ) or Core Count ( requirement of 2 met ). 🤨
I think it's pure commerce, the poor corporations need more money, just to vomit. My lenovo p50, cpu is not compatible. This is an impudence.

How anyone can install Windows 11 outside of hardware requirements is beyond me. I myself would not do it, as system integrity would be my main concern. Microsoft should put a stop to this, like this is some game to people. Obviously security and integrity of your operating system means nothing.

Well.. they can and it's up to them to decide if they want to or not. MS can shut down updates to them at some future date but so far they haven't. To me an others here the improved security that 11 provides is negligible and with proper security(AV, firewall etc) provided by the user there shouldn't be any issues.,

Bottom line it's a personal choice.

You should get updates for now.. We don't know what MS has planned for the future. There is a large discussion on running 11 on non-compliant hardware. I'll look it up and post it for you to follow.

More concerned against the BSODs and such for my setup than WU. I know that in the past we could deliver updates from cmdlines with WSUS offline patches.

That's a good CPU and you shouldn't have any issues with that and using 11 with it. MS has some reasons tied to security that drew a line on the processors 11 will support. I wish they would clarify why,.. but it's MS.

Hallo,

i have 2 oldies Lenovo T500 an W500 from Vista, Win7 Time. They are working very fine with Win10 and Win11 Pro , ( of course with the TPM Reg Hack ), and my Lenovo P50 from Nov. 2017 CPU is not compatible., but with the TPM Hack excellent.
